My Virtualahan Family

Image
In my life, never did I imagine that I will be able to join a community that embraces everyone unconditionally. I honestly have come to a point of thinking that people judge people, no matter what. That biased thought faded when I met the passionate people behind Virtualahan - a multi-awarded social enterprise situated here in Davao City. Family photo. :) Virtualahan is a social enterprise that works with people who have medical, physical, and mental disabilities as well as abled individuals. It provides an intensive digital skills training to help them start working as online service providers such as  data entry, writing, transcription, social media marketing and management, research, graphic designing, SEO, and web development. Virtualahan was coined from the words "Virtual" which means occurring or existing on computers or on the internet, and "Lahan" from the Filipino word "Eskwelahan" which means "school."   Currently, I vol...

Project GypSEAS - Cycle 1

Image
Difficulty in waking up early on weekends is something millennials can all relate to. It's really a tough challenge. What makes it tougher, for me at least, is traveling approximately 30 kilometers daily to go to work. But what drives me to do all these stuff? It's my passion to serve the country and the Filipinos. And one way of showing my patriotism is helping the children, especially those who belong to minority groups. That's the very reason why I joined Project GypSEAS, and never did I think of regret joining it. Project GypSEAS is a sustainable development project that aims to help the Sama Dilaut (People of the Sea) Community in Rainbow Community, Matina Aplaya, Davao City, Philippines popularly known as Badjao Community to create an access to secure, empowered, and sustainable community through monthly programs on Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation, Livelihood, Food Security, Empowerment, Sports, Education and Environmental Protection. The year-long p...

Kapatid Mentor ME Program Second Run in Panabo City

Image
Department of Trade and Industry - Davao del Norte Provincial Office, in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) and Go Negosyo, has just finished the Second Run of the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMMe) Program held at Miko's Brew, Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte on October 06, 2017. The mentees surprised me with their pa-tarp and pa-cake! Thank you so much mga alaga! This is priceless! 💚 The program was officially launched last July 18, 2017, in Panabo City, and was attended by a total of 105 participants; 26 of which were then identified to be this run's participants - or mentees, who want to widen their knowledge about business management and operations, as well as promote their products and build entrepreneurial relationships. Where's the road to becoming a millionaire? There! The rollout and launching ceremony started with Modules 1 and 2, Entrepreneurial Mindsetting and Marketing, respectively, which were taught by "Angel...

Baguio, BGC and Tagaytay 2017 With Friends

Image
It's summer again, and when this time of the year comes, most of the people, especially the millennials, seem to have the energy and excitement to get out from the office, and to go to places they've never been, or places they have been already but wanted to re-visit. I, myself have my own fair share of travel story I'm really excited to all of you guys. I'm sharing you series of blogs of the recent travel that I had with friends, in Baguio, Taguig and in Tagaytay. I'll start our Baguio trip first. The four-day vacation started on an early Saturday morning. Prior to heading to the airport, Louise, Dexter and I took our breakfast at 7/11 Abreeza. Right after, we headed to the airport, checked in and waited for our flight. Can't contain my excitement! :) We arrived at the  Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at almost 8:00AM. We used Uber, (and yes, it's our first time using it) for us to get to the Joy Bus terminal on time. We arrived ...

JENESYS Programme Experience

Image
Many have been dreaming of going to Japan whether for business or just vacation. People who have been there were always tagged as rich and high-profile. Who couldn't say that? I mean it is a rare, rare opportunity to be in the place which is also known as "Land of the Rising Sun." Yes! One of the items on my bucketlist is to go to Japan. I wanted  to go aboard with an international airline, I wanted to taste Japanese food such as Ramen and Tempura, I wanted to mingle with the Japanese people and most importantly, I wanted to experience the Japan-famous Snow and Sakura (Cherry Blossom). Before, I always say to myself that in order for me to be able to cross-out that near-to-impossible item off my bucketlist, I must earn, A LOT. A lot meaning you have to be budgeting almost everything. Not until Japan East-Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths or JENESYS came along. It is a program sponsored by the Japanese Government for student exchange. National Youth...
