My Virtualahan Family

Image
In my life, never did I imagine that I will be able to join a community that embraces everyone unconditionally. I honestly have come to a point of thinking that people judge people, no matter what. That biased thought faded when I met the passionate people behind Virtualahan - a multi-awarded social enterprise situated here in Davao City. Family photo. :) Virtualahan is a social enterprise that works with people who have medical, physical, and mental disabilities as well as abled individuals. It provides an intensive digital skills training to help them start working as online service providers such as  data entry, writing, transcription, social media marketing and management, research, graphic designing, SEO, and web development. Virtualahan was coined from the words "Virtual" which means occurring or existing on computers or on the internet, and "Lahan" from the Filipino word "Eskwelahan" which means "school."   Currently, I vol...

Project GypSEAS - Cycle 1

Difficulty in waking up early on weekends is something millennials can all relate to. It's really a tough challenge. What makes it tougher, for me at least, is traveling approximately 30 kilometers daily to go to work. But what drives me to do all these stuff? It's my passion to serve the country and the Filipinos. And one way of showing my patriotism is helping the children, especially those who belong to minority groups. That's the very reason why I joined Project GypSEAS, and never did I think of regret joining it. Project GypSEAS is a sustainable development project that aims to help the Sama Dilaut (People of the Sea) Community in Rainbow Community, Matina Aplaya, Davao City, Philippines popularly known as Badjao Community to create an access to secure, empowered, and sustainable community through monthly programs on Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation, Livelihood, Food Security, Empowerment, Sports, Education and Environmental Protection. The year-long p...

Department of Trade and Industry - Davao del Norte Provincial Office, in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) and Go Negosyo, has just finished the Second Run of the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMMe) Program held at Miko's Brew, Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte on October 06, 2017. The mentees surprised me with their pa-tarp and pa-cake! Thank you so much mga alaga! This is priceless! 💚 The program was officially launched last July 18, 2017, in Panabo City, and was attended by a total of 105 participants; 26 of which were then identified to be this run's participants - or mentees, who want to widen their knowledge about business management and operations, as well as promote their products and build entrepreneurial relationships. Where's the road to becoming a millionaire? There! The rollout and launching ceremony started with Modules 1 and 2, Entrepreneurial Mindsetting and Marketing, respectively, which were taught by "Angel...
